The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is an independent membership organisation concerned principally with the education, training and assessment of Surgeons, Dental Surgeons and Doctors who are involved in the surgical care of patients. Founded in 1505, the College currently has a membership approaching 25,000 in approximately 100 countries throughout the world.

About the Role

Working within the Membership Services Department and reporting to the Director of Membership Services, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Membership Services team in order to ensure that excellent level of services is provided to College Fellows and Members. A key member the College’s managers’ team, they will work with the Director of the department in developing and maintaining the department’s procedures, and will liaise with other departments to maintain effective cross-department processes and procedures to support the overall College strategy.

There may be occasional requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours.

Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills

This is a superb opportunity for an individual with a proactive customer-focused approach, with an ability to lead and to work as part of a team.

Educated to a Degree level (or equivalent), you will have proven administrative skills, an ability to prioritise your workload with minimum supervision, and an experience of working to tight deadlines in a very busy environment.

You will be a proficient IT user with an experience of working with databases, and will be willing to take on new challenges and support and promote change within your department.
