Membership Engagement Administrator
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is an independent membership organisation concerned principally with the education, training and assessment of Surgeons, Dental Surgeons and Doctors who are involved in the surgical care of patients. Founded in 1505, the College currently has a membership approaching 30,000 in approximately 100 countries throughout the world.
About the Role
The Membership Team encompasses two key strands of activity: membership onboarding and customer service (Membership Services), and retention and recognition activities including membership benefits and ceremonial events (Membership Engagement).
The Membership Engagement Team are the leads on the insight and evaluation of membership activities, managing and developing the College’s suite of membership benefits including overseeing the diploma and ceremonial events processes as well as broader membership engagement activities.
The team have oversight of research and analysis activities, identifying trends and looking to our competitors to inform membership growth campaigns and other marketing activities.
The Membership Engagement Administrator is a new role that would suit an individual who is excited by developing a role that supports members through key transitions in their membership journey. With an interest in understanding the benefits of membership with the College, as well as the events and activities that support members of the College, you will have experience of working in an administrative role and be confident liaising with members’ to resolve their enquiries and gather their feedback.
You will have demonstrable experience of manipulating information in databases, presenting key information and reports, and will be a proficient user of the MS Office suite. You will have the ability to prioritise your workload with minimal supervision whilst working collaboratively with the wider team to achieve shared goals.
You will be confident managing multiple priorities with an organised and methodical approach that is capable of flexing to meet the needs of the team whether that be ordering new stock for the College shop, welcoming new members at a diploma ceremony or monitoring the success of a campaign marketing members benefits.
You will have excellent communication and team working skills. A high level of professionalism and diplomacy is required for the role as is a willingness to take on new challenges and be receptive to change.
