About The Faculty of Remote, Rural and Humanitarian Healthcare (FRRHH)
The FRRHH is hosted within The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and aims to be the global professional home for remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare professionals. Its primary objective is to improve the health outcomes of individuals living and working in remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare contexts.
The Faculty supports the needs of individuals and organisations working across the public, private and third sectors, by setting professional and educational standards, developing leadership capacity, accrediting training and supporting innovation in remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare. The Faculty is a professional membership organisation that sets and maintains the standard of remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare globally.
About the Role
The FRRHH has an exciting opportunity for a pro-active, analytical, and highly organised individual to be part of developing remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare. You will work with a committed group of volunteer clinicians, healthcare professionals and subject matter experts, from a diverse range of backgrounds, who are world leading experts in their fields. What they have in common is their shared dedication to improving and enhancing remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare.
Organisations we work with include: UK-MED, the International Criminal Court, UN, WHO, MSF, United Healthcare Global, International SOS, Optima Healthcare, the NHS, The Robert Gordon University, The University of the Highlands and Islands, Skills for Health, Scottish Government and a wide range of other charitable and industry organisations within remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare.
If you have the skills and experience required, and if you have an interest in the exciting and inspiring work of the Faculty, then we want to hear from you. We require a highly organised and efficient self-starter who can deliver the Faculty’s full range of administrative needs. This is a varied role that will provide opportunities for the right candidate to contribute to and experience other areas of the Faculty’s work. This will include project management, researching and preparing briefing materials, events organisation and delivery, and contributing to communications activity. For the right candidate, this role provides the opportunity to develop your skills, gain understanding of a membership and healthcare organisation, and work alongside some of the world’s leading experts in the field of remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare.
You will work closely with the Faculty Development Manager in a small team where you will help to shape the projects and activities of the Faculty. As part of a small team, you will be supported to grow within this role. You will also need to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the breadth of the College’s c.200 staff to ensure that the Faculty is supported appropriately in achieving its aims and objectives. This will provide further experience, insight and understanding of a healthcare and membership organisation.
