23 and 1/2 hours - Prevention of Obesity and Increasing Activity

Today's report on physical activity issued in The Lancet (18 July 2012) has reiterated a key theme which featured at the recent NHSScotland Events 2012 (21-22 June 2012).

At this event, the focus was on 'driving quality through innovation' and there were strong messages around the Scottish Patient Safety Programme and The Quality Alliance.

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh was involved in the human factors learning session and there were powerful presentations by Mr Derek Feeley, Director General Health and Social Care and Chief Executive NHSScotland and Dr Jason Leitch, Clinical Director, the Quality Unit, Scottish Government.

Prevention of obesity and increasing activity were the key messages of Sir Harry Burns, CMO in his closing address and this video from Dr Mike Evans has been suggested as compulsory viewing for all doctors.
