Diplomas in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is pleased to announce that it is reinstating the examination for the Diplomas in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy.
This examination has been designed to indicate that the candidate has demonstrated that he/she has achieved the required specific learning outcomes of their Dental Care Professional (DCP) category as specified by the General Dental Council’s publication Preparing for Practice - Dental team learning outcomes for registration.
Examiner Vacancies
The College is now recruiting examiners for these Diplomas and applications are invited from both Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists.
Examiners must be in good standing with the General Dental Council, should hold current registration with the GDC and have been registered for a period of not less than four years.
Training for all examiners will be provided by the College and all appointed examiners will be expected to contribute to the question bank and attend appropriate further training. Current dates scheduled for training are the 27 July and 7 December 2018, and examiners must attend a training course and observe a diet of the examination before being permitted to examine. Successful applicants will be invited to training on approval of their application.
The application form, referee form and the criteria for applicants can be found in the documents section below.
