Regional Surgical Advisers
RSA Update - April 2023
The RCSEd Regional Surgical Ambassador Network is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Barney Green as the new Surgical Director of the Network. Barney will be supported in the role by Mr Sriram Rajagopalan and Mr Arjun Takhar who have been appointed as Co-Deputy Directors of the Network.
Barney has been an RSA since 2016 and became Deputy Director in 2019. Arjun and Sriram have been part of the RSA Network since 2015 and 2020. Barney has taken on the role from Mr Mike Silva who was Surgical Director of the network for three years. Mike, who has now joined the College Council will continue to support the network as the Council Member with responsibility for RSAs.
The College gives huge thank Mike for his hard work in developing the network over the past three years and congratulate Barney, Sriram and Arjun on their appointments.
The RSAs are accessible to all Fellows and Members, as well as Student, Foundation and pre-MRCS Affiliates for support and advice.
Our RSA Network is spread throughout England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Over the last three years the RSAs have hosted a number of regional activities for Fellows, Members and Affiliates to attend, including regional forums where attendees discuss important issues with the President, Office Bearers and their RSAs.
Your RSA acts as a conduit of information to and from the College and can provide support and guidance on the following:
- Any new College developments or initiatives
- Career advice and support
- Details on e-logbook and e-portfolio
- Updates on professional issues
- How to access College awards, grants and bursaries
- Advice on MRCS and Fellowship Examinations
- Information on upcoming courses, CPD and educational events
