The College has International Surgical Advisers and Tutors based in Africa. Their role is to act as the representative of the College in their country or region. They can provide advice and guidance on:

Professor Ali Ibrahim Yahya – International Surgical Tutor
Professor Ali Ibrahim Yahya is a Professor of General surgery. He graduated from Alarab Medical School, Benghazi in 1986. He received his FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons. He has presented 45 scientific papers in surgical congresses worldwide, published two books, four chapters, and has 12 publications in journals. He is the Dean of the Libyan Postgraduate in General Surgery. He was Dean of Zliten Medical School from 2013 to 2018 and is the Director of Zliten Medical Center.
Mr Steve Bennett - International Surgical Adviser
Mr Bennett is a UK Consultant General Surgeon with an interest in benign upper GI surgery, laparoscopic surgery, complex hernia surgery and thyroid surgery. Formerly Head of the Department of Surgery in Victoria Hospital, Fife, Scotland, UK, and member of the South East Scotland Surgical Training Committee. He is now working as sole Surgeon at Gahini Hospital, Eastern Rwanda since 2017 in association with the Church Mission Society. Associate Dean of University of Rwanda from 2019.
