The RCSEd Faculty of Dental Surgery is Recruiting for a New Honorary Secretary

The post of Honorary Secretary to the Faculty of Dental Surgery will become vacant in January 2021 following the retiral of Interim Secretary, Professor William Saunders.
Applications for the post of Secretary to the Faculty of Dental Surgery are invited. Applicants should be Fellows in Dental Surgery in good standing with the College. The Secretary shall be appointed for an initial term of three years. The appointee will become an ex-officio member of Dental Council. It is anticipated that the time commitment will average at least one day per week, with the post holder attending key Faculty of Dental Surgery committees and meetings in the College and also working ‘remotely’ from their existing base.
A summary job description is provided in the document attached at the bottom of this page. Interested parties are asked to submit an electronic application using the form available below. The appointment shall be made following an interview process and the subsequent approval of Dental Council. The appointed individual to the role will be expected to shadow the incumbent Secretary for a period of up to three months, with attendance at least one meeting of Dental Council.
The incoming Honorary Secretary would be expected to attend the October 2020 Activities including the following meetings. Considering the current COVID-19 situation, it is expected that attendance at meetings will be by remote/virtual means.

The closing date for applications is 3:00pm on Friday 14 August 2020. All applications and subsequent correspondence should be sent via email to dental@rcsed.ac.uk .
It is anticipated that interviews will be held via video conference on Thursday 27 August 2020.
