RCSEd Celebrates New Members and Fellows at Diploma Ceremony

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh offers congratulations to all new Members and Fellows attending our latest Diploma Presentation Ceremony on Friday 30 August. Our membership stretches across the world and we are proud to have such a diverse range of Diplomates accepting their awards today.

There are a number of special awards being given to those whose commitment to furthering patient safety has gone above and beyond. Those celebrated include Mr David Kitchen Consultant Neurosurgeon, at the Victor Horsley Department of Neurosurgery at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Mr Kitchen is receiving a Fellowship ad Hominem for his work as President of the Society of Neurosurgeons.

Receiving the Faculty of Dental Surgery UK Medal 2018 is Professor W P Saunders for his contribution to the Dental Faculty of the College and to wider dentistry.

Other eminent diplomates include Mr Geert Koffeman Consultant, Colorectal & General Surgery at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy; Prof Md Abul Kalam, Professor at the Department of Plastic Surgery, Dhaka Medical College; Dr Saumitra Sarkar Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Neurological Study, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh all of whom are receiving Fellowship without Examination.
