The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s Faculty of Surgical Trainers (FST) will host the International Conference on Surgical Education and Training (ICOSET) in 2019. The conference entitled To Treat, To Teach, To Train: Exploring Professionalisation, Regulation and Excellence in Surgical Training will take place 21–22 March 2019 in Edinburgh.

The FST and an international faculty of world-renowned surgical educators will explore themes including:

> Should all surgeons be trainers?

> How much training do you need to be a trainer?

> How do we inspire the next generation of trainers?

> Should surgical trainers be regulated?

The role of the surgical trainer will be central to the conference and crucial issues related to training will be explored. The conference will comprise plenary sessions, breakout sessions and workshops. Delegates will be able to network with world leaders in surgical education and training and have a say in shaping the future for surgical trainers.

A call for abstracts and workshops will be announced on the FST website.
