The four Surgical Royal Colleges have agreed that there will be no increase in the JCST fee in 2018-19. The fee will remain at £260 from August 2018.

Read statement below:

The Surgical Royal Colleges are committed to supporting training and are acutely aware of the financial demands being placed on trainees. We have taken the decision that the JCST fee for 2018-19 will remain at the 2017-18 level.

The JCST continues to deliver essential work in establishing, maintaining and updating the curriculum, syllabuses and assessment framework for surgical training as well as monitoring and making recommendations for certification. It also delivers online training management systems and supports national quality assurance and local quality management processes for surgical training programmes.

We remain committed to the ongoing development of the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Programme (ISCP) to make it more accessible and flexible for all users.
