The National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) has published a report on the status of surgery research funding in the UK.

The document collates funding opportunities for surgery research from stakeholders across medicine, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and the surgical Royal Colleges. The NCRI have said  it is designed for surgeons at all career stages to carry out laboratory or clinic-based research.

Commenting on the release of the report, Chair of the RCSEd’s Awards and Grants Committee, Professor Ken Fearon, said: “There are many routes to funding surgical research and this report from the NCRI is a very helpful guide to the available sources of funding. The RCSEd also provides a wide range of opportunities for research funding, which can be viewed on our website.”
