RCSEd Birmingham Launch Events

Some of the first events to be held at our new Centre of Operations in Birmingham are now open for registration. These events will take place during the first week of activity within our base and are the first of many such courses and events which we will be holding in Birmingham on an ongoing basis in the future.

In addition local Fellows and Members are invited to join the President, Office Bearers and Council for an informal drinks reception on Thursday 3 April at 5:30pm to celebrate the opening of the new Centre of Operations. Places at this reception are limited so, if you would like to attend, please contact presidentpa@rcsed.ac.uk 

 
RCSEd Fellows and Members are invited to register now for the following events:

 

10am to 2.30pm, Friday 28 March

A day of discussion and informative presentations designed specifically for those of our membership who are SAS surgeons. This event carries 3 CPD points. This event carries no charge and lunch is included.

 

10am to 4pm, Tuesday 1 April

A morning of discussion and debate around the role of the trainee surgeon in patient safety in the post-Francis era. After lunch there will be a two hour NOTSS course which carries 5 CPD points. This event is for Members of the College and carries no charge; lunch is included.

 

 10am to 2pm, Thursday 3 April

This one-day course has been designed to improve the effectiveness of Procedure Based Assessments now and in the future. The course aims to: establish clarity on the design features and purpose of PBAs; enable participants to create further PBAs that will be valid and reliable; establish sufficient momentum for change that good practice becomes the norm. The course is aimed at consultant trainers and senior trainees from all surgical specialties.This event is for Fellows and Members of the College and carries no charge; lunch is included.
