The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) is inviting the Edinburgh public to come along to their annual Christmas Charity Craft Fair at their Nicolson Street headquarters in Edinburgh, from 5.30 to 8pm on Monday 4 November 2013.

Each year, RCSEd staff nominate a charity to fundraise for and this year’s charity is Riders for Health. This 20-year-old social enterprise works in sub-Saharan Africa, providing transport to connect rural communities with healthcare providers. From Nigeria to Lesotho, Riders for Health's fleet of vehicles facilitates emergency referrals, transports samples and supplies, and mobilises community health workers.

Explaining more about the Christmas Charity Craft Fair, Helen MacDonald from the College’s charity fundraising team said:

“Our annual Christmas Charity Craft Fair is a great opportunity for members of the public to visit our 500-year-old College and support our fundraising activities, while at the same time getting some early Christmas shopping inspiration. Craft exhibitors will range from artists and jewellery-makers to stalls selling confectionary, crafted items of clothing and many unique gift ideas.

“We hope the people of Edinburgh will take the time to stop by on Monday to see what we have on offer and to share some early Christmas charity spirit!
