The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has added a new location to its venues in India offering the final part of the Membership exam.

On 2-3 December 2013, the Intercollegiate MRCS Part B OSCE will be held for the first time in Chennai.

Candidates who book for the exam are also being offered discounted rates for a specially tailored preparation course being held in Chennai and Kerala in August and September.

The RCSEd is pleased to be working locally with Dr Sai Krishna Vittal, who has organised the Chennai diet of the examination, and Dr Uma Krishnaswamy and Mr KS Krishna Kumar, respective organisers of the preparation course in Chennai and Kerala.

Mr Ken Hosie, Convener of the College's Examinations Committee, said: "We hope this addition to our examination centres will make it easier for candidates in India to ultimately become Members and Fellows of one of the oldest and most prestigious surgical institutions in the world."

Registration for the examination closes on 6 September 2013. Visit the examinations web pages for further information. Alternatively, email surgical.exams@rcsed.ac.uk
