Representatives from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh will be attending the annual Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) Conference. This will be held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, from Saturday 6 April to Sunday 7 April 2013.
Over 600 Trainees from all ten surgical specialties are expected to attend this conference to listen to the latest updates in clinical practice, training, and workforce, and to hear what the future holds for surgical training.
We encourage all RCSEd Trainees over the course of the conference to visit the College's representatives at Stand Number 4.
For those attending, you will be interested to hear our RCSEd President Mr Ian Ritchie will be giving the welcome speech at the Conference's Welcome Drinks Reception on the Friday night, following the pre-conference courses.
As well as our Outreach Team being available to offer College information and advice, Trainee Member of Council, Orthopaedic Registrar, Mr Issaq Ahmed and Regional Surgical Adviser, Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Mr Stuart Clark will also be available to listen to the views of our Trainee membership.
As part of the Conference programme, RCSEd Vice President and Consultant General Surgeon, Mr Mike Lavelle-Jones will be participating in a Question Time panel debate on the role and work of the Royal Surgical Colleges with representatives of the other three Colleges at 10.10am on Saturday 6 April.
