National Surgical Conference for Foundation and Student Doctors

This conference is jointly organised by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Sheffield Students Surgical Society. The theme this year is 'The Cases that Changed the Way I Practice'. The fee for members of the Sheffield Student Surgical Society is £17 and £15 for RCSEd Affiliates. The conference will take place at the University of Sheffield Medical School.

You do not need to be presenting in order to attend. The day will consist of lectures from expert consultants from various specialties followed by research presentations and practical workshops. Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance. All delegates must book their place via the RCSEd website.

Event Format

Oral/poster presentations, guest lectures and surgical skills workshops.

Event Objectives

A national conference providing an opportunity to present work of a surgical nature. Presentations will be judged by Consultants.

Learning Outcomes

Delegates will gain experience in presenting and feedback from judges will be available. There will be opportunities for discussion with consultant surgeons and the college about a career in surgery and for delegates to see the work of their peers and gain practical surgical experience through the various workshops.

We are now accepting abstract submissions for the following meetings. You will need to log in / register with our website before submitting an abstract. Submit your abstract here.

The deadline for submission is midnight on Thursday 10th January. The top abstracts will be shortlisted and a number of students and FYs will be selected to attend and present at the conference.
