RCSEd and Medtronic Virtual Surgical Skills Competition 2021
Registration for the 2021 RCSEd and Medtronic Virtual Surgical Skills Competition has opened!
About the Competition
A worldwide pandemic has not stopped RCSEd and Medtronic from encouraging medical students from around the UK to practice and learn new skills – this time in the comfort of their own home.
RCSEd & Medtronic Virtual Surgical Skills Competition 2021 encourages all medical students in the UK to learn and develop vital skills which will benefit them in whatever direction their medical career takes them. The College and Medtronic have collaborated to create two brand new challenges in the form of an online quiz and a skills box which will be sent to the ten highest marking students from each medical school. All competition registrants will also receive complimentary affiliate membership with RCSEd.
Registration must be completed before midnight on Sunday 21st March.

How to Register
Register now via your College account for RCSEd and Medtronic Virtual Surgical Skills Competition 2021.
Registration must be completed before midnight on Sunday 21st March.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all medical students currently enrolled in a UK based medical school. You can check if your medical school is included by checking the regional list below.

How does it work?
The competition is held over multiple stages, which are as follows:
Stage One:
Students register for the competition.
Registration must be completed before midnight on Sunday 21st March.
Stage Two:
Students will be sent details on how to compete in the first heat of the competition - online quiz that will test a wide range of knowledge!
Stage Three:
The ten students from each medical school with the highest marks from heat one will advance to heat two and be sent a ‘skills box’ containing hyper real organ models and tools. Students will then be given four weeks to practice a set of skills and upload a video of themselves demonstrating these skills to the best of their ability. Full details will be included with the skills box.
Stage Four:
The highest scoring students from each medical school will progress to the final stage and be invited to Edinburgh to compete in our Grand Final in June 2021 *
