The Postgraduate Medical Journal is the journal of the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine, and is intended to be read by physicians and surgeons alike. The Journal aims to help doctors in training acquire the necessary skills to enable them to deliver the highest possible standards of patient care, to help trainers to develop suitable training programmes, and on completion of training, to allow doctors to maintain those high standards by a process of continuing medical education. As a journal committed to the professional development of clinicians, each issue of the Postgraduate Medical Journal includes commissioned editorials, original papers, review articles, case reports and self-assessment questions.
