Guidance on Making an Online Application

The procedure for making an online application is simple - all you require is an active RCSEd user account and your Credit Card or Debit Card details. First-time applicants will need to have the details of their basic degree, dates of passing primary examinations and details of their training at the ready. You will be prompted to enter the required information and the payment is made at the very final stage of the process. We regret that it is not possible to save a partial application to return to it at a later date. It is possible however to work through the process without making a payment in order to ascertain the information required to be entered online.

NB: We regret that candidates applying for an overseas examination for which the fees are not paid in pounds sterling (GBP) or for which the application form, fees and documentation have to be sent directly to an overseas centre cannot apply online.

Before you begin the process, please take a minute to logon to your account and check that your contact details are up to date. It is extremely important that your postal and email addresses are correct within your user account as these addresses will be used to contact you with your examination notice and results. If your address changes after you have applied online it is important that you update your College account to reflect your new address. .

When you are ready to apply online select the examination you wish to apply for from the RCSEd Exams Booking Website. From the Exams Calendar, simply follow the instructions as you progress through the online application process. Please note that the examination fee will be withdrawn from your bank account immediately.

Please note that if you have not attempted the examination at the Edinburgh College but have taken the examination at another College you must apply online through the first-time candidate route. The re-site route is only open to candidates who have previously attempted the examination through the Edinburgh College.
