Surgeons' Hall

Surgeons’ Hall, our Edinburgh conference venue,at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh comprises three distinct venues; in addition to a 78 bedroom hotel.

The Playfair building dating back to 1832 is ideal for meetings, private dining and gala dinners. It is also home to the famous surgical museums and library, which house collections of international importance. The museums offer attendees a rare opportunity to explore the history of surgery.

The Symposium Hall has been transformed internally from the former St Michael’s Church into a 158-seat tiered auditorium, which is a popular venue for conferences, AGMs and lectures.

In architectural contrast, the Quincentenary Hall is a modern purpose-built conference centre, with a plenary space for up to 250 delegates, 3 sizable breakout rooms and a multi functional reception area.

Our on-site Edinburgh hotel, ten hill place hotel, has recently been awarded a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business scheme and has also been named Small City Hotel of The Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2009.
