Bursaries For Affiliate Medical Student Elective Placements In Africa

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is offering a number of bursaries to Undergraduate Affiliates of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, enrolled at UK universities, who have planned to carry out their elective placements in Africa. The elective need not necessarily be in a surgical specific unit but priority may be given to students demonstrating an interest in surgery.
Applicants must be a RCSEd Student Affiliate.
The bursary will comprise a single payment which can be used towards travel and accommodation costs or other expenses involved with the placement such as vaccinations and visas.

Ethicon Medical Student Elective Travel Bursaries

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), in association with Ethicon, is pleased to offer medical students an opportunity to apply for a travel bursary towards their elective in Surgery.
The bursaries, to the value of £250, are open to medical students in the UK and the Republic of Ireland who are affiliates of RCSEd and who are undertaking approved surgical electives overseas. To become an affiliate of the College please go to our Students Homepage.

Bursaries for Undergraduate Elective or Vacation Studies 2012
CLOSING DATE: Wednesday 28 March 2012
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is offering a number of bursaries to undergraduate students of medicine or dentistry to enable them to work for elective or vacation periods in universities, medical schools, NHS laboratories or research institutes in the United Kingdom. Proposals for work on research projects in any branch of surgery are eligible for consideration.
Preference will be given to applications sponsored by a Member/Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, but quality of project and applicant shall be the over-riding consideration.
