THE NUMBER OF PLACES FOR THIS EXAMINATION WILL BE LIMITED.

Applications will be accepted in the first instance from local candidates and then on a first come first served basis. 


Please note that due to the restricted number of places for this examination and the scheduling of the examinations, candidates who apply for this examination will NOT be permitted to apply for the same examination in any other centre that falls within 2 months of the date of this examination. 

This examination is conducted in English.

In the unlikely event that the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has to cancel the examinations, the examination fee shall be reimbursed, but the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh shall incur no further liability.

In the event of candidate numbers being too great to facilitate the completion of the examinations within the specified time period, the Royal Surgical Colleges of UK and Ireland, with prior agreement from the Intercollegiate Committee for Basic Surgical Examinations, reserve the right to make alternative arrangements and extend the time announced for the examination within reasonable limits.
